Live Blogging: Chicago White Sox vs. Seattle Mariners


After 2 Innings, Neither White Sox nor Mariners have a baserunner. 

Middle of 3rd: James Paxton has retired all 9 batters.  Paxton is perfect after 3 innings.  

End of 3 Innings: Hector Noesi also has retired all 9 batters in the first third of the game.  White Sox and Mariners are scoreless.  

Top of 4th Inning:  Alejandro De Aza becomes the game's first baserunner, with a soft ground ball that became an infield hit.  

   Jose Abreu hits into a double play, ending the Top of the 4th Inning.  

White Sox and Mariners are scoreless. 

Bottom of 4th Inning: Robinson Cano becomes Mariners' first baserunner as he reaches on an error by Gordon Beckham.  

    Kendrys Morales singles to left moving Cano to third.

   Kyle Seager hits a RBI double scoring Robinson Cano.  Runners on 1st and 3rd, 2 outs.  Mariners lead White Sox 1-0.  

   Zunino walks, the bases are loaded for the Mariners.  

   Mariners leave the Bases Loaded.  After 4 Innings of play, Mariners lead the White Sox 1-0. 

Top of 5th Inning: Alexi Ramirez singles and has a stolen base.  

Paul Konerko singles advancing Ramirez to 3rd.  

Tyler Flowers hits into a 4-6-3 double play.   After 4-1/2 Innings of play Mariners lead White Sox 1-0.  

End of 5 Innings: Noesi retires the side in the Bottom of 5th Inning.  Mariners lead White Sox 1-0.  

Top of 6th Inning: Gordon Beckham singles and then advanced to 2nd on wild pitch.  

   White Sox leaves Beckham stranded.  After 5-1/2 innings of play, Mariners lead White Sox 1-0. 
 
Bottom of 6th Inning:  Dustin Ackley singles to right field.  

   Ackley got caught stealing to end the 6th Inning.  After 6 innings, Mariners still lead the White Sox 1-0.  

Top of 7th Inning: Jose Abreu doubles to right field and advances to 3rd on a sacrifice fly to right field by Dayan Viciedo.  

    Alexi Ramirez hits RBI double to left field scoring Abreu.  McClendon pulls Paxton.  White Sox and Mariners tied at one.  

   White Sox leave Alexi Ramirez stranded at 2nd base.  

Bottom of 7th Inning: Mike Zunino hits a single into left field.  

   Logan Morrison hits into a 4-6-3 double play to end the Bottom of the 7th Inning.  

After 7 innings White Sox and Mariners are tied at one.  

Top of 8th Inning: Moises Sierra hits an infield hit to third.  Sierra advances to second on a sacrifice bunt by Gordon Beckham.  

   White Sox leave Sierra at 2nd base. White Sox and Mariners are tied at one, after 7-1/2 innings.  

Bottom of 8th Inning: Chris Taylor singles, becoming the Go-ahead run.  Taylor advances to 2nd, after a sacrifice bunt by  Endy Chavez.  

    Ventura pulls Noesi and brings in Javy Guerra.  
 
   Mariners leave Chris Taylor on 2nd.  After 8 innings of play, Mariners and White Sox are tied at 1.  

Top of 9th Inning:
Yorevis Medina is now pitching for the Mariners. 

   Jose Abreu leads off the ninth with a single to left field.  

   Alexi Ramirez hits into 5-4-3 double play.  White Sox and Mariners are tied at one a piece, after 8-1/2 innings of play. 

Bottom of 9th Innning: Kendrys Morales hits an infield single to 3rd base.  Morales is replaced by Chris Denorfia.  Denorfia is on first base.  

   Eric Surkamp replaces Javy Guerra at pitcher.  

   Kyle Seager hits into a 6-3 double play.  

White Sox and Mariners are tied at one.  They are going to extra innings.  

Top of 10th Inning: Fernado Rodney is now pitching for the Mariners.  

    Tyler Flowers singles, gets out at 2nd on a fielder's choice hit by pinch-hitter Jordan Danks.  Danks replaces Sierra in the Sox's lineup.  Danks stole 2nd during Gordon Beckham's at bat.  
  
   Connor Gillespie hits a single advances Danks to third.  

White Sox leave 2 runners on base in the Top of the Tenth.  White Sox and Mariners are tied at one.  

Correction: Connor Gillespie drove in Jordan Danks in the Top of the 10th Inning.  

Bottom of the 10th Inning: 
Jake Petricka comes in to pitch for the White Sox.  He gives up a hit to Logan Morrison.  Morrison would be out as a part of a game-ending 6-4-3 double play.  

White Sox defeat Mariners 2-1.  Surkamp the winner, Rodney the loser and Petricka picks up his 8th save of 2014.
